History & Mission

CREDIT UNION HISTORY

The Elizabeth, NJ Firemen’s Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1939 by firefighters for firefighters For many years we served only firefighters by providing low cost loans and competitive savings rates. In 2002 through a vote of our members, our charter was revised to include the Elizabeth PBA and in 2003 the employees of the City of Elizabeth, Housing Authority and Parking Authority. Through the years we have grown to include Summit Fire, Hillside Fire, Police, Hillside Municipal as well as Kenilworth Fire and EMS. This dramatically increased the number of members as well as our asset size. We have continued to add new products and services and we are now a full-service financial institution. Our goal is to be your members primary financial institution. We look forward to serving our members and their families for years to come.
